
The Village Hub
Goal: This mini-factory is making it possible for people in remote areas of Indonesia to be sugar palm farmers and make a decent living, while preserving the rainforest at the same time.
Results: This village hub in Tomohon has important educational purposes for showing the viability of the sugar palm concept for remote areas in Indonesias rainforests.

Reforestation Masarang mountain
Goal: Restoring the environment, reducing erosion of the mountain slopes and the prevention of floodings in Tomohon, North Sulawesi.
Results: All goals have been reached, and in addition underground wells have been restored. The village of Rurukan has now clean drinking water.

Biochar (A kind of charcoal)
Goal: By using Biochar, farmers have an alternative for not having to burn their land each year. This saves time, money, and eliminates CO2 emissions to the atmosphere.
Results: Not burning their land means annual savings of time and money, and additional income for farmers. Also, it eliminates the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Project: Tenkawang Factory
Goal: The sustainable use of the Tengkawang nut provides additional income for the local population and gives an impulse to preserve the tropical rainforest.
Results: Immediately after the opening of the plant on August 19 2014, the first harvest was processed and the set-up was tested on a large scale. Since then, many improvements have been made.

Sea turtle conservation
Goal: A place where 5 different protected sea turtles species can lay their eggs. The project so aims to protect the sea turtles from going extinct.
Results: Annually 1000s tortoises are released, and the project so contributes to the conservation of these species.

Tasikoki animal rescue centre
Goal: Tasikoki was founded to combat the illegal wildlife trade in Indonesia to the Philippines.
Results: Masarang has taken and is taking care of over 2000 animals of 110 different protected species. The education by employees to schools also plays an important role.
